44west is a team of four young Swiss men who, in mid-2022, set an ambitious goal: to compete in the World's Toughest Row 2025 and row across the Atlantic. Their aim went far beyond athletic success. In addition to winning one of the world's most physically and mentally demanding races, the team raised funds for the non-profit organisation RRReefs, dedicated to restoring coral reefs.

After 3.5 years of meticulous preparation, the team set sail on December 14. The route spanned 4,800 kilometres from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean island of Antigua. After 31 days, 8 hours, and 8 minutes, 44west crossed the finish line first, achieving a start-to-finish victory at the World's Toughest Row 2025.
