Where there is trust, there is strength

Dear business partners of Fabrical,

At the beginning of 2026, the paperless office became reality at Fabrical. The many USM pieces of furniture that had accompanied us for years now stand empty, a visible sign of change, progress, and new chapters.

While clearing out my office, I came across a sheet of paper. Written in 2005, even before we founded our fiduciary company and family office “Fabrical.” On it were our ten principles as guiding values for our young company with great ambitions.

Remarkably, after twenty years of business activity, these principles still apply to us today, in fact, they have become even more important. One of the principles states:

“Where there is trust, there is strength.”

A simple sentence. And in retrospect, the one that has proven to be Fabrical’s greatest success factor: Because trust remains our strongest currency.

Leon Seierlein from roarvisuals.co is an entrepreneur and has been Fabrical’s photographer for many years. A partnership on equal footing, where trust, passion, competence, and the joy of shared success come together.

Why is trust so central to Fabrical?

In business relationships, trust is a hard economic success factor for several reasons:

  1. Trust reduces complexity
Business means uncertainty: markets change, inform, ation is incomplete, decisions must be made under risk. Trust reduces the need for control, coordination loops, and suspicion.
Less control = faster decisions = lower transaction costs.
  2. Trust enables openness
Without trust, problems are concealed, risks downplayed, and mistakes covered up.
With trust, challenges are addressed early and therefore become solvable. Transparency only emerges where there is no fear.
  3. Trust creates reliability
Business relationships are based on commitments: deadlines, quality, discretion, loyalty. Trust means believing that the other party will act correctly even when it may involve short-term disadvantages. Without this predictability, any agreement becomes fragile.
  4. Trust fosters long-term thinking
Trust shifts the focus from short-term profit to sustainable partnership. One invests in the relationship, not just in the deal.
  5. Trust strengthens resilience in crises
Conflicts and difficult phases are inevitable. In relationships built on strong trust, tensions are resolved constructively. Without trust, they escalate.
  6. Trust is based on three core factors
According to Roger C. Mayer’s trust model (ABI model), trust arises from:
    • Competence: Can the person deliver?
    • Benevolence: Do they intend to act fairly?
    • Integrity: Do they uphold their principles and commitments?

If one of these pillars is missing, the relationship begins to crumble.

In short:

“Trust is the foundation of every stable business relationship.
Without trust, there are contracts.
With trust, there are partnerships.”

Fabrical works with its clients in true partnerships. Successfully since 2005.

Yours sincerely,

Andreas Schlumpf
